About startups

it's been 6 years where my content consumption consists 80% of startups-related content. these are some of the advice that constantly popups:

  1. iterate as fast as you can
  2. think for yourself
  3. you need to be contrarian and right
  4. people are the most important thing, hiring is really important
  5. you have to get everything right at once; growth it's nothing without retention, product it's nothing without distribution, etc.
  6. competition is for losers (thiel, obv)
  7. work a lot
  8. have a correct vision of the future and go build it (thiel)
  9. focus on surviving
  10. make friends with the idea you'll work on this for 10+ years (at least) if everything goes well (thiel)
  11. become obsessed with your problem
  12. talk more with your users
  13. focus is key, you can't diverge it into lots of things
    1. so spend your time wisely (no conferences and that bs)
  14. aim to build up a technological moat. (thiel)
  15. be extremely ambitious. (pg)
  16. work on things you're interested about
  17. founders have extreme traits and that's double edged
